R2-D2 March 2 2003

Well I tried to recover the foot shells, but they would not fit so I started to make new ones. Of course the motto measure twice cut once bites me again. After almost finishing the upper shells I tried to fit them on. To my horror they didn't. A quick check of the drawings showed I had somehow made the top 1 inch shorter than the drawings. This means I have to make new shells. Unfortunately I am in a rush and did not get a chance to take pictures.

In the mean time I have been designing the 2-3-2 of my next R2. I have been slowly working on the leg drop system. Here is a link to what I have been working on so far. Click Me
