Resident Evil T-Virus Prop
This is an attempt at making the T-Virus vials from Resident evil. Now to search high and low for the parts needed
I found some stir sticks at the dollar store that seemed like they might work
I also found some Kaleidoscopes that looked like they had potential.
For the Kaleidoscopes I first cut off the end piece.
Then I found out that the container is not a plastic shell but a cardboard one. So no container here.
Now to try and bend the stir sticks. I found a tube that I put in a vice.
I clamped the base of the stir stick with the tube in the vice and used a heat gun and heated the stir stick until it was soft enough to bend around the tube.
Try number one
In some places the heat was not applied evenly so there was some stretching of the rod
Here is it pulled off the rod. It looked too big so off I went looking for another smaller diameter rod.
Try number 2. Notice also the rotating base which made it mush easier to make.
I also add some marks to the side to try and make 2 as similar as possible
Here are the various tries. It sure is not easy making 2 the same. Also I found out that the spin direction of the pieces have to the in the same direction. I made one with the spin in the opposite direction and it was obvious it would not work.
I next tried to make the parts going down and it seems easier then going up
After many many tries I have 4 sets that are not too bad.
I did find this tube that was holding some screws that is a bit small but might have to do in a pinch
So with the curls inside the tube it is a bit small.
