More castings
So going back to this engine part the castings look fairly good and the moulds has been holding out OK. However any minute I would think that the mould would start to tear due to teh amount of stretching it has to d to get the part out. Also I have to start comparing the various castings to see if over time the mould has not slightly distorted
Still casting away these little bells so that I can save one of those ones that was not completely cast.
So I phoned my caster today and it sounds like he is ready to demould the body tonight. Hopefully the master can be removed without too much damage. Next will be to try some castings to see how things work out. One side of the mould for the engine swirly thing has also been completed with the hardest part being where to put the mould separation line to minimize cleanup. Exciting news. Hopefully within the next few days I will have some photos and crossing fingers I can get some castings on Saturday.
