And here I thought I had nothing left to do but make castings. I am going to try and make a resin jig. The theory is that if I have a jig with recessed areas I can cut brass rod to length and drop it in these recesses. If I carefully flux the joints and cut a sliver of solder and place them on top of the joints. If I add heat using a torch the joints should be brazed together. A torch is needed as I am sure a soldering gun would pick up the small brass rods and screw things up |
So we have 3 recessed areas. The 2 bigger ones go on one antenna array. The shorter one is used 3 times. Once for the dish and twice for the front most part of the antenna array |
All boxed up and ready to receive the resin. Normally I wold be pouring RTV rubber but I want the resin to have the recesses |
Resin poured and waiting for it to cure. |
