I now try and do some various shading using Testors Metallics. The stainless steel and aluminum paints look bad. Gunmetal gives some dark areas but a brown metallic actually gives some brownish areas that I can pick out from some reference shots |
Overall I am not that happy with the results. The brighter metallics (aluminum) really pick out the problems with the casting. This might be a problem with the main ship to get a good finish. The shuttles actually have a different hue then the main ship. |
the mould is pulled from teh master and this one looks a lot better |
Close up |
Curses an air bubble after all the careful work. Hopefully it will not be a major problem |
