So I stripped al the paint by dipping the shuttles into a container of Castrol Superclean Degreaser. Great stuff. So after a day of that a used toothbrush cleans off the rest of the paint. It is then primed again with Plasticote Gray Sandable primer. I then spray a gloss black Tamiya acrylic coat before the Alclad II steel colour. This time all the detail comes through |
Or maybe too much detail as these items were rejected for a reason and I can see why. It also picks out all the flaws in my master. Metallic paints tend to do that |
Only one side will be seen since they are going to be installed in their alcoves so one side of each shuttle is better then the other |
I have painted the windows gloss black |
