The box is made for the mould. This is a one piece mould |
I put on one layer of RTV rubber taking care to try and make sure there are no bubbles on the surface of the master |

Another view. Unfortunately the area between the head and body is a small undercut so I am not sure if I did eliminate the bubbles that can be trapped there |
Some professional mould makers put their mould into a vacuum chamber. What this does is it basically sucks out all the air in the container and reduces or eliminates the bubbles in the mould. I do not have a vacuum chamber but what I do have is one of those vacuum bag sealers. It also came with some jars. So I put the mould in one of those jars and hooked it up to the bag sealer. I left it on for a bit to reduce the pressure inside the bottle as much as possible. Some fairly big bubbles came out so hopefully it has done it's job |
Close up of the top of the mould and with bubbles coming out. |
Last year for Joss' birthday the Browncoats had screening through out the world and raised money for charity. We had a screening in Toronto and raised about $1000 for the charity Equity Now. We hope to do it again this year and are looking into theatres now. I believe the date is June 23. To help raise funds we will have donated items for auction or for sale. I am donating a glass etching of Morena that I had her sign when she was at a local convention last year. I also hope to have a finished copy of my model to donate. |
