After taking a second look I can see that the vent is slightly slanted. I noticed this when I went to put the detail piece above it on. So I guess that will not do
Some filing to get the slant to the detail pieces for under the wing

So I start to remove the putty
More digging to get the resin insert out
More problems. I missed it completely but the let and right wings are slightly different on the bottom. Now the majority of people will not notice since they are on different sides of the ship but I will know. Crap!
So styrene parts get removed
