On the left is the slots I have carved into the cast item. I am sure that if I tried to do this to the styrene piece then some of the glued in slats would break off meaning repairs that might get messy. The background is the end table in the hotel room

The first two cast items are modified and turn out OK which is good since the third casting had bubbles in it. They look simple to make but these carved grooves took over an hour to do since i had to take the time to make sure things were all lined up. TO make the grooves I first tried to use a razor saw but it was too thin so I eventually used hte back of an exacto blade

I am in a town called Sudbury, which is about 400km from home. It was pouring rain outside so driving up was not that much fun the last 100km. Dinner is done so I pull out my little tool kit and the parts and work a bit on the model |
