Look at the picture. What do you see? The part I just made, my original solar panels and some junk. Allow me to preach what I do not practice. Make sure your work area is clean. Not filled with tools and junk. I spent over an hour looking for the above part after it popped out of my hand and landed on the floor somewhere. Nearby I keep tools, books, DVD shelf, magazines, putty, spackling compound, wire motors, etc. One hour I was on the floor carefully cleaning it up. Putting stuff in the garbage as I cleaned the area looking for my part. Thoughts of having to make a new part was not very appealing. I found some aluminum parts I am sure came off my model and I had to replace. Scrap parts that had the shape of the part I was looking for and the best part was the solar panels I had originally made and had to remake. How they got under the sofa I have no idea as I am sure I put them in a particular binder.

Well extra parts for me I guess. Today's lesson? Keep your area clean even if I do not abide by it.

Yay solar panels. Boo scraps

After recovering from all the swearing when I lost the part it was back to the model and cutting out the area that the new part will go in.

Another view of the gaping hole

I add little height strips to teh back of the part

The back side. This will allow the part to sit flush with teh surface instead of falling in

Test fitting. Still needs a bit of sanding and fitting

Like a Jedi Master patience is learned when building some time and working slowly it eventually fits. Hooray for the good guys.

So that is only one side and this is what all that work was. To include a grill that I noticed later on in the references.

Curse you XOIC CGI guys for making the ship so complex.
