Turns out there is a slight curve in the part which can not be replicated with flat sheet styrene so here I am gluing 2 pieces together and using a clamp to keep the bend as the glue dries

So after some grinding and filing and test fitting things were not going well

Even after grinding the inside I was having a tough time getting it to fit

Hey the idea dawns on me to use the automotive putty to try and make a mould of the end of the engine part. This way the fit will be perfect

Just after the putty starts to set in I can carve most of the excess away. Much easier now then later when things are fairly hard
