Almost done and guess what. A close look of both sides at the same time showed that they were misaligned. Damn. Too much focusing on the fine details and not the overall model. Can't leave it as it is so it has to be reworked. I really hate having to redo things over.

After several attempts I think I finally managed to get the rod in the right place. I must have spent over half an hour on this one rod alone

I used a drill bit inserted into the rod as a comparison between the left and right side rods to make sure they were as close as possible to being lined up

And the second rod is inserted. Today was a fun day.

For the amount of time I am spending on these items they better look good. I plan to prime the areas grey which will show off what I need to fix.
