Oh I have thought up of a method of getting the slots I see in my references. First using the images printed to the scale size I need I use it to make a template of the shape I need |
I make several copies and I hole them together by pinning them all with brass rod |
This holds the parts together as I sand and file the styrene to the shape I want |
now I sandwich thinner styrene which will give me the recessed area |
I sand these to the same outer shape of the thicker styrene |
Then I take apart the layers |
Close up of the layers showing them numbered in case I drop the entire thing on the floor need to reassemble it and the different material thickness' |
Playing around with the thinner parts I recessed them slightly by eye |
They are glued together as I go |
