Here I am using the Zoic CGI image of the ship to work out the dimensions for the recess in the side of the stip.

I have drawn various lines on the image to aid in my making of parts

The base parts are cut. I had to make one part twice since I lost the first one.

A couple of hours later I have the box structures

A couple of hours I hear you say? Well I was watching the season premier of 24. Yeah I am slow but I had to bake both sides and the box structure

Some trimming done. Tomorrow I will do the final trimming

I have just found out on the Starship Modeller forum that someone in the UK is working on a Serenity model with the goal of a kit. He has been working on his for several weeks and it looks great so far. He figures maybe 8 more weeks before he is finished. Wow do I feel like a snail.

His will be about 8 inches long. The guy must be a machine and I can not help but be a bit jealous at his progress. I do wish there were more photos of his progress.

So it appears that one way or another there will be a model kit for the flans.
