Recasting. I know they exist and it is a fact of life. Since I have not produced a kit and had it copied I can not say how I would feel. The amount of work in this model is a lot. TO produce a kit and then for someone to quickly copy it may send me over the deep end. I can make it harder by including some laser cut items. Some of the fins as well as the solar panels can be laser cut. In theory they can also be recast but it would not be easy since they would be fairly thin.

What else is there? I can make decals but there is only the logo, no other markings on the ship. Instructions can be easily copied.

I can include a CD with all the images I have. Maybe even these pages showing how I built the master. I also can get some Serenity buttons and maybe keyfobs. I have some mini posters but it would be hard to send them without them getting damaged. The problem is I do not have a lot so if I produce 50 kits I don’t think I can get 50 buttons or keyfobs.

Any images I have of the finished model will need to have my name all over it so it can not be copied.

Maybe also a laser etched styrene name plaque.

I could introduce a brass rod into the part to allow the side engines to rotate. I doubt I could include it in the casting process but I can put the brass rod in the cast part after by drilling and gluing it in. Then again the re-caster can eliminate that and not give an option of rotating the engines.
