test fitting the wing to see how far I am out |
The black mark shows where the front of thewing should be |
Out comes the Dremel tool as well as knives and files |
And this is how far out I am |
Looks big |
Also comes out the brass tubing, tubing cutter, super glue and a new mounting point is added. Here you also see how far out the wing was |
The right side is done and the left side will be done next |
OK here it is obvious how far off it was and the difference it makes to the look of the model. Now with out the comparison I am sure next to no one would notice. But looking at the difference now I am glad I decide to correct the error |
Who reads these things? Well I guess it doesn't really matter too much but you do get some idea of what I am thinking. Maybe I'll write so much that people will get bored and not pick up the juicy bits. Well I got a price quote for some laser cutting. This is the same guy that does a lot of laser cutting for a friend and I for runs of parts for the R2 Builders club. He has done a great job and we have given him loads of business. I am glad when these things work out. Still pissed at the other vendor that did not get back to me. Even though he is local I don't know if I will give him any business any more. Just as well I am loyal to the first supplier and will not take any business away from him. Now that I am calmed down a bit and have gotten on with the model. I have a great idea. I will need a big favour from a friend. When I finish the model I would love to have a brass plaque on the base with all the Stars signatures. Wouldn't that be cool. A couple of friends are going to flanvation so maybe I can bribe one to do it for me. I hate imposing as it would be a lot of standing in line to get all the autographs. However if they were going to do it anyways..... Now I rarely get autographs but this would be an extra nice touch to add to my model. |
