SERENITY - Nov 3 2005 |
The reshaped side section filed down again |
Back section too |
The other side also gets filing and sanding. Ever get the feeling you have been there before? |
The underside gets some filing and sanding also |
The new image that shows me that the underside is slightly off |
And now for something completely different we start the rotating section of the engine |
This is the Chopper II which when set up properly will give me nice constant parts |
Boxes started |
Oh now you know what I am talking about |
Later on in the show the part is more detailed with some indents on the side where the engine is. You can only see it when the engines are in the park mode. This is next to impossible to see on the model and would make the moulding a lot harder so I have not included that detail. |
Later on I will do some filing and sanding and glue the assembly together so it will not rotate all over the place |
Saw Serenity for the 10th time. Yes I am insane. More body work and moving onto the engines. Someone I know contacted me and asked if I needed laser cutting done for my model. After some thought I said yes. He said he would do it for free if I gave him a kit in return when it is done. I said sure. So I did some artwork and sent it to him then never heard back. I am not sure if he got busy or if there were hurricane issues as he is in Florida. So then I learn of a local source form my hobby store. I get their info and I phone and talk with the guy for a bit. I email the file and then I hear nothing. I phone them to follow up and the guy said he will get me a quote in the next few days. Nothing. I am a bit miffed that my hopes have been raised and then crushed. Then I recall I know of 2 more sources. Why I never thought of them before I don't know. My hopes have been raised again. |
