OK starting some more little detail parts of the swirl. I have no idea what the function of this part is but it has a vent type front. I can picture the location but can not describe it

Sigh. The swirl gets more sanding and puttying

The surface is starting to look mottled as you can see styrene (white), automotive putty (pink), primer (grey) and hobby putty (whitish) all at once. It surprises me at how uneven the surface still is after all the puttying I have been doing.

Another detail part of the swirl. Not many good reference pictures of this. Damn I wish I had my DVDs back so I can check them.

Both the detail parts ready for the next phase which is the internal carving

I am not happy that this appears to be going so slow. However I still do not want to compromise. Although I hear rumblings of others that are making masters I would sure like to see what they are doing and possibly talk with them to compare notes. Super secretive I guess, as they do not want to tip their hand and want to be the first to market to capture the market. It is hard to tell how big the market is. People say they want a model but when they see a large price things change. If I do a kit I do not see it being ready until 2006. Will there be no market then as the movie is forgotten? Oh well no worries as I can still get some made as gifts for friends.
