I needed to cut off the excess part of the casting and do it as straight as possible. Very hard to do free hand. I remembered I had this height gauge and I was able to use it to score a line around the part to give me an idea where to grind.

Here is the part marked and redy to have hte excess cut off

I have used a marker ot try and highlight the line so grinding would be easier

About an hour later the part has been ground down to the line

Now it was time for the main engine body section

The two pices joined together. There was some fit problems so lots of filing was needed

The engine support bracket ready to be modified ot fit the engine

After several sessions of filing and test fitting

The parts glued together and some indents filled with putty
