McDonalds - Aug 14 2005 OK for reasons I will not go into my hand hurts and I am in massive pain. So nothing got done on Serenity at all. I had to get this done for the 16th and thankfully I did most of it earlier. A co-worker loves her McDonalds and her fries and fillet-o-fish. So I decided since her Birthday is coming up I will make her a special gift. |
Start with the actual packaging all broken down to the flat state and scan. |
Same with the fries package |
Take the image to a copy place and have it printed out BIG |
Would you like fries with that? |
Cut away most of the excess paper. The actual items are show beside them for scale |
Use one UHU stick (dry glue stick) to be used to stick the paper printout to bristol board |
Glued to bristol board |
And now all cut out. Use the actual items to cut all the slits. Use the actual items to determine how to fold things and where they were glue together. For the bottom of the fries container I perforated the bristol board and paper with the sharp end of an Exacto knife to force the paper to bend as it does on the real thing |
All done. Well I guess I missed some steps. The fries are Styrofoam insulation. 2 inch thick cut in slices. I then airbrushed them white to get a base. I then airbrushed them a bright yellow. Then I detailed the edges with a brownish red colour. When these were dry I hot glued them into the package. Note: Hand in pain so again an easy task took a lot longer then I would have liked. |
The Birthday girl and her special gifts. Hungry? |
Note: Unfortunately I was still in pain so I was not able to get into work the day before her birthday. I had balloons and streamers in McDonalds colours (red and yellow) and I wanted to go all out on her desk after work so when she got in it would be all decorated. I thought about decorating it the day after I returned but it is not the same thing when it isn't her birthday so I did a bit of decorating when she went outside for the morning break. |
