Pink Pig June 10 2003 This started as a club project. The project was that everyone got the same decal sheet and put it on any subject they wanted. The decal sheet is the local provincial police (OPP). I originally was not going to do it but then during a conversation with a couple of friend the idea of a Pink Pig came up. The actual story behind the Pink Pig is that in 1971 there was a race team that could not get sponsorship for their race car which was a Porsche 917-20. As a lark they painted the car pink and labeled various sections of the car as body parts of a real pig if it was to be cut up. The pig reference also relates to the police car. First you buy a cheap diecast of the local OPP car |
Next you take everything apart |
Sand off all markings and prime the body white before the pink goes on. |
Yes Pink. I just mixed Tamiya acrylic white and red until I got pink. |
Aftermarket OPP decals and help from fellow modellers with the Pink Pig Markings and bingo. A new Pink Pig |
