Finally getting back to K9. To make the body stronger I am using a 2 Part expanding foam. You mix equal parts of this stuff and it expand to 10 times the volume. Before I start I lightly sand the inside surface of the styrene to give the foam something to grab onto. I also tape off every seam to prevent foam escaping. I do this even though most of the seams inside were sealed with hot glue. Better safe then sorry. The back side of the opening was taped over to allow easy removal later on
The first pour was the top of the bottom seen here. The amount mixed was a bit more then I wanted.
After that had mostly dried I taped off one side and poured the expanding foam into the side. Each side tool 2 pours
So here we are after all the pours. The body is heavier but also much sturdier.
