This is a 2/3 Scale StarGate project

Each section was originally joined only at the joints with the plates and bolts but this proved too flimsy so I added the 1x2s. They are also bolts in the middle of the Styrofoam so in theory all the load is taken by the wood.

I had to make a small vac form machine for some of the detail bits. I have a Matel vac form machine that I used to make some small detail pieces

Who would have thought that I would need 3 cordless drills at the same time, which I happen to have. This helped speed up the frame construction phase.

These are the resin female masters for the vac form machine. I made one male master then created a female master from that to make a mould to cast multiple female masters. Make sense?

Another view. This is made from 0.020 Styrene and is a bit flimsy but it is filled with foam to give it strength

These detail pieces were made in my Matel Vac form machine. I estimate i need about 144 of rhese

And a close up of the other pieces that have been trimmed from the styrene sheet. I need about 240 of these
