Monogram 1:32 Bluethunder Helicopter

I was in California and touring the studios when they were making the movie. I saw the special effects shop and saw the drawings of the helicopter and bits and pieces. Ever since then I have been interested in building a model of the helicopter in the movie.

The pictures were taken with a video camera so the detail may not be as sharp.

Kit was built straight out of the box. No major problems but one has to be careful with all the antennas that may be knocked off during assembly. Decals did have a lot of clear film and had to be trimmed away.

Good Points

Assembly was straight forward with no major fit problems

Bad Points

Decals wouldn't react to setting solutions and conform to curves.

A couple of sink marks in the landing gear that are not easy to clean up.

Colours in instructions not very clear

Not easy to blend the glass to the body
