Revell 1:24 Ferrari 458 |
The body ready to go onto the chassis |
Close up of the front wheel. The build process for the wheels is different then what I have seen in other models. The disc brake and caliper is sandwiches between the front and rear portion of the wheel. You have to be careful of the glue r you might glue the wheels and they will not rotate. I sprayed the wheels with polished Aluminum Alclad to reduce the bright chrome finish. The Disc brakes were sprayed with black and then steel Alclad. The holes in the discs were drilled out. The instructions call out for an aluminum colour for the calipers but I painted them with metallic red before putting the Ferrari decal on. |
Rear Wheel |
The tires are unidirectional and are moulded very nicely. |
This shows the inner lining of the interior of the car. This is quite a nice kit. |
Instead of the kit clear part and decal I used mesh to cover the opening. This mesh was actually from a tea bag and was very fine. The material was white so I used a magic marker to make it black. IF I tried to airbrush black paint all the fine holes would clog up. |
Excess mesh trimmer back. |
Almost finished but it is looking very nice. The paint after drying was lighty wet polished with 600 grit sandpaper to get rid of the orange peel, Then I used GT88 Scratch remover to bring back the shine. |
