Polar Lights 1:350 Star Trek TOS Enterprise

This is part of the lighting kit provided by Polar Lights. I am used to electronics so I can troubleshoot problems.

In this case whoever assembled the circuit board put the plug in backwards. This means someone who is not familiar with electronics would have plugged in the wires and their lights would not have worked.

You might also notice that I marked the circuit board with a sharpie with the letters as outlined in the instructions. This makes plugging and unplugging the plugs during the construction process much easier.

I thought I would have to desolder the plug to flip it around. Luckily I could pull the plug out and flip it around to get the plug to sit right. As a rule just make sure that the red wire is on the left side when plugged in.

Some people have reported that the LEDs on the Buzzard lights are standing to tall. If you are good with soldering you can desolder the LEDs and shorten them. To help disperse the light from the LEDs that will be orange I am going to sand the tip of the LEDs.

As a check to see if the LEDs are standing too tall assemble the front kit part to the circuit board and it should fit flush as seen in the photo.
