May 12 2010 - Star School Musical
Today at Ross Doan Public School the students performed a musical stage show called Star School Musical. Approximately 100 students were involved in this production. A friend from University has a son who is at the school and his wife was involved in putting the production on. As a favour to my friend I agreed to bring R2 out to add to their show.
The show was over 2 hours long which shows how much time these grade 2-4 students and teachers put into this show. Everyone had a great time and R2 made some new friends. Unfortunately there as no time to get a photo with the entire cast in their costumes.
After the show R2 was mobbed as everyone wanted to get their photo taken with R2 at the same time. R2 was quite overwhelmed by all the attention. Unfortunately some kids had to leave right away so they were not able to get a good photo of them with R2.
Eventually when the crowd thinned a bit I was able to form a line so the students could get individual photos with R2.
When the crowd thinned even more they were able to take a mini group photo.
This was the first time I was given a flower for helping out. R2 also got his own flower.
A great gesture by some of the students were thank you notes for bringing R2 out. I found this quite touching and makes all the hard work worthwhile. Of course all of the smiling kids is also worth it.
