Sick Kids Hospital Visit - July 2 2006 |
Updated Nov 19, 2007
Unfortunately my old server (www.onehut.ca) lost my web page and this was one section I did not have backed up properly so quite a few images were lost. I have managed to get a few photos from friends.
The Toronto area 501st has been trying to get into the local sick kids hospital to entertain the kids for a while now. Unfortunately all attempts have failed so far. In July 2006 they had a staff BBQ and did invite a small group of us out. We were guided by some volunteers who treated us very well. (sorry I forgot their names)
It was a hot day for those in armour and they made sure we had enough water to keep hydrated. We started off mostly inside but eventually went inside where we were well received by the staff, parents and kids walking the halls.
We went to this story place where each day a story is read to young children. Those that could not get down to the room saw and heard the reading through a close circuit TV system.
The kids were quite young so I think some of them might have been afraid of the costumes.
We did not get to see too as many sick kids as we wanted but overall a very good experience. |
