From L-R: 2 inch screw before modifications, 2 inch screw cut back 1/2 inch, a 1-1/2 screw. The modified screw was cut using a Dremel tool and cut off wheel.

So I first screwed in a normal 2 inch screw to start a thread in the PVC. After pulling this out I then used one of the trimmed back 2 inch screws to join the tray sections. Here you can see the top of the cut off screw. I used a drill to screw in the screws 95% of the way. I then hand tightened the screws you make it as tight as possible but not stripping the thread in the PVC. It is up to the builder if they want to cover the holes of the top of the screws

Here are the parts assembled. I have not installed the top detail piece as these can be glued in after all the trays have been joined. The tray sections can be glued together through the standoffs. This will just add to the rigidity.

Next would be adding the legs but I just thought of a different method to join the trays. Stay tuned
