I got No 10 2 inch long wood screws to join the trays together |
This is actually a 1-1/2 inch long No 10 Wood Screw I thought I would try first to see if it was enough. I countersunk the holes on the bottom of the tray. The newer trays come with small locating holes. It is up to the builder to determine if they want to leave the hole size as is or to drill it out depending on the screw they are using. |

It turns out the length is OK but then I found the tray pieces flexed too much. This meant I had to go with the 2 inch long wood screws |
The wood screws do not break the surface but this also means less area if the PVC material is used to wold the individual trays together |
Here is a 2 inch wood screw used. It extends beyond the surface of the tray so it will need to be trimmed back |
