Toronto Area R2 Builders Nov 2002 |
A busy week for the R2 Builders in the Toronto Area. As a promotion for the Hobby Show Lorenzo and Alex has agreed to go on a few TV shows with Lorenzo's B-9 Robot and Alex's R2 unit. For Breakfast TV Lorenzo and Alex have to be at the TV station by 5:30am to get ready for 6am. In the end we did not go on until 7:15am. All did not go according to plan as Lorenzo accidentally blew his transformers and this meant his lights would not work on his unit. On my R2 I had problems with the Switch 16 so I also could not get the light to work on my R2. |

The Hobby Show with Lorenzo's B-9 and Alex's R2 on display. Every so often I would fire him up to wow the crowds. |

Late Friday evening Gary brings in his partially completed unit. A surprise for us there is that Gary has his 2-3-2 working. He started with C&M's design but had to modify it until he finally got it working. This was his fourth generation system |
Drawer slides for the middle leg. Power window motors for the side legs. Limit switches everywhere and a Switch 8 to remote control the 2-3-2 |

Gary (left) and Heath (second from left) talk about the 2-3-2 system while the crowd is impressed with seeing a naked R2 do his 2-3-2. |

Same as above. Notice the rig between Alex and Gary. This is the test bed for the feet design by Heath and Alex. Tests done that weekend were very positive. |

MPG of Gary's 232 in action We made jokes of putting cigarettes on the floor and having R2 put them out |
